Crafting the Solution

Project Approach

The in-house designer spearheaded the creation of the visual design and information architecture as part of their internal process. Subsequently, I was tasked with bringing these designs to life by implementing the visual concepts and constructing the front-end web page templates.

Collaborative Endeavor

Our collaborative synergy extended to close coordination with the Marketing and IT departments. We collectively shaped the site’s structure, crafted the requisite user interface components and meticulously developed web page templates. This comprehensive process involved slicing Photoshop documents into functional assets, writing front-end code and subjecting the website to rigorous cross-browser compatibility testing.

Skills & Tools

The project harnessed the power of the following skills and tools:

  • Adobe PhotoShop
  • HTML & CSS
  • JavaScript & jQuery

Project Outcomes

Measuring Success

The success of the project was primarily gauged through the client’s response to the introduction of a responsive layout. This marked a significant milestone for the client as it was their inaugural experience with a fully responsive website. It granted their marketing team the versatility to reach a broader audience on mobile devices.

Reflections on Learning

One of the key takeaways from this project was mastering the development of responsive layouts. This endeavor marked my first foray into crafting a 100% responsive website. It afforded me the opportunity to delve into the intricacies of fluid layouts, breakpoints and CSS media queries, enhancing my skill set and understanding of responsive web design.
