Project Overview
Client Profile
Client: Boardwalk Rental Properties
Type: Internal Project
Role: User Interface Design & Front-End Web Development
Challenges & Objectives
Project Imperatives
The organization tasked us with a tight six-month timeline to execute this critical web redevelopment. Our mandate encompassed designing a multilingual user interface, implementing a responsive layout and providing support for legacy web browsers.
User Needs
Our primary user groups, rental property customers and rental property associates, shared similar core requirements. They sought a user-friendly platform for searching rental properties and accessing property-related information.
Crafting the Solution
Project Approach
To ensure a collaborative approach, weekly project meetings convened with stakeholders from various departments, including operations, marketing, internet technology and public web teams. This collective effort allowed us to present project options to the team, gather feedback and secure their approval over a span of six months.
Initial Design Steps
The project’s first phase involved wireframing the core user interface. Wireframes were meticulously crafted to demonstrate user interface elements, functionality and page layout. Initial wireframes for the homepage and a standard sub-page were presented to the project team for evaluation. Once approved, I embarked on the process of prototyping the user interface and developing the responsive layout.
Prototyping Advancements
Prototypes of the initial wireframes were brought to life using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. These prototypes were shared with the project team to provide them with a tangible sense of how user interface components would adapt seamlessly across mobile, tablet and desktop screens. Key interface elements developed in this phase included responsive containers, input controls, navigational components and informative elements.
Comprehensive Design & Development
Each section of the website underwent meticulous attention. Page templates were crafted with precision and multilingual user interface components were designed. We presented diverse design options, developed these components with utmost care and rigorously conducted cross-browser compatibility testing until every facet of the website was thoroughly refined and perfected.
